Job Title:  A&P Technician

Reports To:  OPERATIONS MGR

Status:  Hourly; Nonexempt     Shift:  Full-time; Dayshift; Weekdays     OR     2nd Shift & Weekends

Job Summary:

The A&P Tech will maintain, repair, and inspect aircraft to ensure safe operations within guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs regular maintenance on aircraft
  • Ensures proper working conditions of mechanical systems before flight
  • Develops and maintains records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and any reports related to parts or services
  • Inspects and examines engines, wings, propellers, tails, and other parts to identify cracks, corrosion, or other defects
  • Inspects hoses and lubricates joints; replaces any that show signs of needing repair
  • Consults maintenance manuals and specifications to identify correct operations and specifications for replacements or repairs
  • Installs new parts to replace or repair defective or recalled parts or to enhance the performance of the aircraft; performs these tasks efficiently and to specifications
  • Repairs sheet metal as needed
  • Ensures proper function of engines and operating systems via a variety of tests and tools
  • Identifies and resolves mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from pilot or crew
  • Collaborates, as needed, with airframe and power plant (A&P) mechanics or other appropriate personnel to repair engines and non-instrumental parts

Required Skills/Abilities:

Job Title:  Program Manager

Reports To:  OPS MGR                                   Status:  Salary; Exempt                                 Shift:  Full-time

Job Summary:

The Program Manager will oversee quality of workmanship that assures maintenance accomplished meets standards for serviceability and support of BAM customers. The incumbent will draw from their aircraft maintenance experience in the development and implementation of plans, organizational management and control, and the direction of all technician personnel activities. Technically knowledgeable and possessing leadership and management skills with a demonstrated track record in adapting to change.  Responds to challenges in a changing work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Perform supervisory responsibilities for assigned employees and area(s), for example, PMP and 90-day reviews, opportunities for professional development and training, personnel decisions concerning hire, fire, disciplinary issues, and salary adjustments, and employee schedules and leave.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as customer primary point-of-contact in communicating, coordinating, and follow-up for items such as time/labor/material quotes, preliminary invoices, progress updates, customer approval and debrief on work packages, resolution of squawks, and warranty issues
  • Perform Project Management duties for multiple aircraft to include identification of potential risks and management of constraints
  • Pre-plan, develop and maintain schedule through aircraft delivery and follow-up
  • Monitor and oversee workflow to ensure work package is on schedule and within budget. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Site Inspection Procedures Manual, Site Operating Procedures and FARs
  • Facilitate status meetings with all departments and shops; update daily reports on status of aircraft and report to General Manager
  • Return aircraft to service after maintenance
  • Coordinate special programs with Project Support Team, (i.e., Smart Parts, ESP, MSP, Honeywell, and Warranty)
  • Review, approve, and sign final customer invoice as needed, (i.e., review margin analysis, warranty negotiations, and revision of service orders (SVOs)
  • Perform post work package activities, (i.e., customer follow-up calls, resolve customer issues after departure, review invoice and margins, set-up outsides sales for parts not received, and send parts/supplies to customer)
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding facility financial objectives on all projects
  • Encourage and promote a safe work environment by supervising a safety/security program which includes operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, & general housekeeping. Ensure that regular established safety/security audits are conducted, and discrepancies are addressed

Education and Experience:

Job Title:  Director of Operations

Reports To:  President/CEO               Status:  Salary; Exempt                           Shift:  Full-time; Dayshift

Job Summary:

The Director of Operations for Part 135 is responsible to lead and oversee Aviation Maintenance and the day-to-day operations of for BAMJets.  The Director of Operations may delegate functions to other personnel, however, retains complete responsibility for implementing, managing, and evaluating operation processes and procedures, in accordance with the established standards and procedures. Leads in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages other Pilots.  Determines general personnel requirements and consults with the CEO, Vice President, and the Director of Maintenance regarding hiring and/or discharge of general and maintenance personnel. Assists as needed with interviews, hiring, and discharge of flight personnel

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the company’s objective of providing safe and efficient air transportation in accordance with company policies, procedures, FAA and other government agency regulations
  • Plan and execute programs involving personnel, equipment, policies and procedures
  • Make all decisions that involve immediate action for safety and in the best interest of the organization
  • Represent the company with government, industry and communities in activities to fulfill company objectives
  • Authorized to submit, accept or surrender company certificates
  • Has authority to act for the Company, including the signing of FAA correspondence and Operations Specifications
  • Ensures all flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, and Company policies
  • Communicates with the FAA Flight Standards District Office and the National Transportation Safety Board. Files all required reports and documents
  • Devises revisions to this manual as needed, submits the proposed revisions to the FSDO, receives confirmation from the FSDO that the revisions are acceptable, and then distributes those revisions to all manual holders
  • Support and participate in the Safety Management System
  • Supervises distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to any changes affecting Company policy, route information, navaids, NOTAMS, requisitioning of flying aids, aeronautical charts, etc. Coordinates with the Director of Maintenance the timely correction of mechanical irregularities and discrepancies
  • Ensures the MEL Program is managed by the Director of Maintenance
  • Has the authority to act for the Company and exercises operational control under FAR Part 135.77
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years in a position that exercised operational control over any operations conducted under part 135; or
  • In the case of a person becoming Director of Operations for the first time ever, have at least 3 years’ experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 135
  • In the case of a person with previous experience as a Director of Operations, have at least 3 years’ experience, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 135
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating
  • Microsoft Office skills proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience with running an Aviation Charter or Start-up Company preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage other pilots
  • Proven ability to speak to groups
  • Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions

Job Title:  Director of Maintenance

Job Summary:

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the airworthiness and conformity of the BAMJets, LLC fleet of Part 135 aircraft.  Acts as liaison to FAA regarding documentation requirements and certification actions.  Keeps fleet current and compliant while ensuring continued growth by adding new types of aircraft, writing procedures, and ensuring new aircraft certifications are obtained & maintained.  Fleet consists of approximately six aircraft to include, but not limited to the following:  King Air, Eclipse, Cessna 441, Cessna 182, and Falcon 50.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ensures that the department is properly staffed, managed, organized, trained, and directed to fulfill its responsibilities according to internal and FAA regulations, including handling personnel issues such as discipline and termination when necessary

Promotes a healthy culture for the department and the team that benefits employee engagement, happiness, customer loyalty, safety, integrity, and overall excellence

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Represents BAM Jets internally and externally with industry groups and regulatory bodies
  • Provides technical support on a variety of tasks
  • Leads the development, communication, and implementation of efficient procedures, policies, and effective growth strategies for the department
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship as liaison between company, clients, and the FAA with responsibility for the company’s issued maintenance certificates and signing of correspondence
  • Responsible for all record keeping and auditing requirements, including maintenance and disposition of those records, and signing of the Operations Specifications
  • Oversees all inspections, repairs, and component changes and accompanying documentation are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer or FAA approved procedures, conforming to quality control standards, on schedule, and in compliance with FAA regulations
  • Oversees and reviews work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign offs, supervising and inspecting as required
  • Responsible for the aircraft, tooling, equipment, materials, inventory, and activities within the hangar(s) and on the adjacent ramp(s) for all department personnel
  • Plans and prepares maintenance or repair estimates and determine the scope of work and personnel required
  • Maintains all necessary records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that the aircraft is approved and returned to service
  • Acts as primary point of contact with flight crews on maintenance discrepancies related to Part 135 fleet with understanding of MEL and write-up process for each aircraft
  • Coordinates with the Director of Operations on the timely communication and correction of mechanical repairs, as well as planned inspections or maintenance work on the Part 135 fleet around scheduled flights
  • Provides the Director of Operations with the current airworthiness status of aircraft under the Part 135 fleet, forecasting downtimes to facilitate maintenance scheduling at optimal times and ensure timely deferral or correction of aircraft discrepancies
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary and assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must meet the requirements of FAR 119 for qualifications of Director of Maintenance
  • Ability to meet all FAA requirements and approval for the Director of Maintenance designation
  • Interface and communicate well with customers, vendors, team members, flight crews, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings

Job Title:  Quality Inspector

Reports To:  Chief Inspector                     Status:  Hourly; Nonexempt                       Shift:  Full-time; Dayshift

Location:  BCT

Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector reports to the Chief Inspector. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all airworthiness requirements, for the article being maintained or altered, have been met.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the work scope of assigned aircraft
  • Ensure FAA approved data is being used for major repairs and alterations on assigned aircraft
  • Compute weight and balance on assigned aircraft as required
  • Provide accurate and correct aircraft maintenance records entries on assigned aircraft
  • Ensure all paperwork and documentation for aircraft maintenance and alteration is complete and accurate and that Corrective Action completely clears the discrepancy
  • Provide final inspection and approval for Return to Service (RTS) on assigned aircraft
  • Performs the Preliminary, Hidden Damage, and In-Process Inspections
  • Inspects for airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations
  • Provides “OK to Install” and “Installation OK” for aircraft component parts
  • Familiar with all applicable 14 CFR and the RSM/QCM
  • Be an intergral part of the team, help projects to move along
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary and assigned

Job Title:  Part 135 Pilot

Reports To:  Director of Operations – Part 135          Status:  Salary; Exempt          Shift:  Full-time

Location:  California/Florida

Job Summary:

The C441 Pilot is responsible to provide diverse and varied flying experience throughout the Pacific Northwest with exposure to the travel and tourism industry, and its various responsibilities, in a Part 135 Operation.  They will perform in a dynamic and flexible work environment, allowing for self-directed growth and professional development opportunities while learning on the job and utilizing best practices in airline travel, transportation, and customer service.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • All pre-flight, in-flight, and post flight functions, such as: pre-flight aircraft inspections, weather evaluation, flight planning and implementation of crew and passenger transportation, loading of luggage and cargo, flying, post-flight inspections, aircraft cleaning and security
  • Reviewing and calculating the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts
  • Communicate aircraft discrepancies for maintenance review and correction
  • Confidently pilot the aircraft during visual and instrument conditions in both remote and congested airspace
  • Knowledgeable of FARs, familiarity with 135 General Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, and other technical and regulatory publications
  • Maintain a high degree of proficiency concerning aircraft systems and performance knowledge and ensuring that aircraft are operated in a safe and efficient manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers. Studying weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points. Maintain an aircraft that is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers
  • Maintain required FAA certifications and comply with all Federal Aviation regulations, company operations manual, operations specifications, standard operating procedures and company policies and procedures
  • Must be able to pass DOT/FAA drug screening, background checks, and submit to random drug/alcohol tests when required
  • Perform duties in a West Coast Operation with CRQ as Home Base
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary and assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 135
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computers and flight planning software and demonstrated ability to utilize Garmin DTN 750’s
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to function well under pressure

Education and Experience:

  • Current Commercial Pilot Certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years prior Part 135 experience preferred
  • Previous Cessna 441 Conquest II experience highly preferred 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to Stand/Sit/Walk with the majority of time spent sitting
  • Must be able to Talk/Hear100% of the time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time
